My Personal Style

As a farm wife/work-from-home-momma, it is so easy to get complacent in my everyday style...or the lack thereof! I mean, sweatpants are life and I will never feel bad about it! However, there are times when for reals getting dressed is warranted and when those times arise, I still want to be comfy, all while looking somewhat put together in my own personal way.  Which is why I have a few go-to items that always do the trick!

Item #1: A great pair of jeans

A "great" pair of jeans is really hard to find in my opinion, so when I do find them, I hang on for dear life and wear 'em every chance I get! Let me disclose that I don't like going shopping...YEP, I just said that! Because of this abnormality, I am going to be certain that I love my purchases the first time. 9 times out of 10, you will find Old Navy and Lucky Brand jeans in my closet. On the rare occasion, I will stray from these brands, but for the most part, we have a very committed relationship!  My two most recent favorites from both places are linked

{here} and {here}.

For reference, I am 5'8" / 160 lbs and wear a size 10 in Old Navy and a size 8 in Lucky Brand.

I would definitely say that the Old Navy jeans fit absolutely true to size! As for the Lucky Brand pair, they have what I call "vanity sizes" and I always wear one size smaller in their brand. I will also tell ya, that vanity sizing works!  There is a bit of a price difference as well, but Lucky Brand jeans last FOREVER, so they are worth it! I have a pair of boot cut jeans I got there 5 years ago and they show no signs of quitting on me anytime soon!  I am a huge fan of both brands!

Item #2: A classic blazer

Give me a classic blazer, and you'll make me happy! They literally go with everything - dresses, skirts, jeans, shorts...again, LITERALLY everything! They've quickly become a staple in my wardrobe. I have black, navy, and off-white. It's just so easy to throw one over any top and have a really cute outfit! I especially love to wear mine with jeans and a comfy tee! My favorites are any of the blazers from H&M. They are a great fit and a flattering look on anyone! I also love that they distract the eye from the evident child bearing that resides around my midsection. Winner all around!!!

I've linked my black one {here} & I am wearing a size 10

Item #3: A comfy t-shirt:

Actually, any shirt that makes YOU comfortable, will absolutely work! Personally, I prefer tees, and for two main reasons: 1. I always have them on hand & 2. Because they make the look a little more comfy and laid back. Don't get me wrong, if I were going to meet the Queen, I'd probably opt for a nicer blouse of sorts...or, would I??? Oh well, I guess I can worry about that when my invitation from Ol' Queen Lizzie arrives. The point I am trying to make is that I love t-shirts!

You can of course,  grab a pretty great tee over at Southern Farm Co. , but I also like

{this one}, {this one} and {this one}.

They are supa dupa affordable too! YAY!

I am between a large and an extra large in these, and I usually go with the bigger size so I can throw it in the dryer.  Low maintenance at its finest, folks!

Bonus Item #4: Shoes

Since I have sciatic nerve issues, I am not about to try wearing heels when I don't have to! NO MA'AM!!! In most pictures of me, you'll see I'm wearing my trusty ol' boots. These babies have been around for about 12 years and I will wear them until the soles fall off! I get asked about them all the time because they have rounded toe, low heel, and are perfectly distressed with scuffs, some paint splatters, cracks, and even drops of blood from dehorning calves. They're made by Winchester (same as the guns) and I've never found another pair. Believe me, I've been searching the world over and have found nothing! Alas, the hunt will continue. So, that being said, if you're into boots, any pair will look pretty dang good! One could also throw on some sneaks, heels, flats, or sandals to complete this "business-casual-farmer" trending style.

World, you ARE welcome! Haha!
